Erik Graduated from McGeorge Law School in Sacramento in 1980. He passed the bar on his first try, and was admitted to the practice of law in November, 1980. Erik worked for the Board of Prison Terms for almost 2 years. He also worked for the Youth and Adult Correctional Agency. After a brief stint as a criminal defense attorney, Erik was hired in 1984 by the Stanislaus District Attorney's Office.

Erik was a Prosecutor for 19 years, almost 16 of which were in El Dorado County. He has handled over 130 trials, including murder trials with special circumstances. He was the first attorney to use DNA evidence in a criminal case in El Dorado County. Erik was cross-designated as a Special Assistant United States Attorney to handle cases in the Federal Courts in the early 1990's. Erik was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 2002.

Erik returned to private practice in December of 2002. He has since concentrated on representing clients charged with crimes in El Dorado County. Erik has handled cases from Murder to traffic tickets. He handles DUI's (Driving While Under the Influence), including the associated Administrative Per Se suspension hearing before the Department of Motor Vehicles. Erik is conversant with the Medical Marijuana issues in El Dorado County. He also handles juvenile criminal law matters.
